More than 1,000 students from seven counties will be among the attendees during the June and July sessions for the Grant Wood Area Education Agency's College for Kids summer enrichment program.

Registrations will be accepted beginning March 1, and will open the opportunity for middle school students to select from several courses based on their personal and academic interests. Grant Wood AEA’s College for Kids is in its 30th year of offering summer advanced level academic and fine arts courses in the college setting to eligible students in gifted and talented programs who have completed 6th, 7th or 8th grade. Through the College for Kids experience, students are offered enriched and specialized curricula, and have the opportunity to further explore a hobby or a topic of interest not typically available in middle school general education.

“Every program and service at Grant Wood AEA is centered on meeting the agency goals of increasing the academic performance of all students, increasing the percentage of students who perform at the proficient level, and students’ acquisition and application of 21st century skills and knowledge,” said College for Kids Program Director Susie Green. “College for Kids is a natural extension of our agency’s work during the academic year and offers additional learning opportunities for our local students.”

When the registration window opens, applications will be accepted here.
