The SCERTS Model
This workshop provides an overview of Social Emotional Engagement - Knowledge and Skills (SEE-KS) as a framework for fostering social emotional engagement, presenting information in multiple ways, and promoting student participation and relationships at multi-tiers of support. Participants will:
- Learn how the application of research in the social neuroscience of social emotional engagement fosters our ability to create supportive learning environments where social emotional engagement is "fuel" for a child’s learning.
- Learn strategies for measuring student engagement, specially designed instruction to address student engagement within everyday classroom lessons and for building capacity through teacher-to-teacher mentorship.
- Work in groups where they will collaborate with their peers, share their knowledge and ideas, and have information presented through a range of modalities.
