The Childcare Alliance Response Team (CART) provides coaching and consultation of research-based, behavioral intervention strategies rooted in Early Childhood Positive Behavior Supports (EC-PBIS) to childcare providers to support children ages 0-5 experiencing intense behavioral challenges. Children may be referred by childcare providers or families, as this support can be a big help to families who may be in danger of losing their employment if their child is unable to remain in their childcare setting.
How can we help your child?
If you would like to make a referral, please fill out this form.
CART staff will conduct a behavior assessment for referred children, identify strategies and practices providers and teachers may use, and provide coaching/implementation assistance to guide childcare providers working with the challenging behaviors in young children. Individualized behavior support plans may be created to further support social-emotional wellbeing of the child, as well as each child care provider/teacher will participate in a coaching partnership that will give them information about ways they can assure their classroom-wide setting contributes to the success and well-being of all children in their care.
Because CART is a Benton, Cedar, Linn, Johnson, Jones and Tama County Early Childhood Iowa Grant funded program, referrals to this program are limited only to those counties.
