Computer Science Education Week (csedweek.org) is celebrated the first week of December to help promote computer science amongst students, parents, communities and organizations.

2024 CS Ed Week is December 9th - 15th!

It's time to start planning your 2024 Computer Science Education week celebration!

🖥️ Live Virtual Panels Events




  • Two live, virtual panels are schedule for the 2023 CS Ed Week! You can access the event registration and recordings at tinyurl.com/IowaAEACSEvents.
  • Both panels are intended for secondary students:
    • Careers in AI
    • Pathways to AI Careers

Student Activities




  • Pick and choose activities or lessons from our curated one-page documents that best fit your students needs, instructional time available (from 10 minutes to an hour), and your classroom schedule.
  • Use the CS Ed Week Resource Dashboard to search for a variety of resources, recordings, and events in one filterable location.
  • Check out the additional CS Ed Week resources from Hour of Code and CSEdWeek (CSTA).

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Virtual Family Coding Night & Nutcracker + STEM Event




  • Register and save the date to participate in the statewide Virtual Family AI Night on December 7 from 6:30 - 7:30. Students and families will engage in computer science activities. Recorded session will be posted after the event.
  • Learn more about the Nutcracker + STEM event on December 8 from information in the event flyer that includes registration and activities.

  • Consider collaborating with a community & business partner to connect students with Iowa professionals whose work is influenced by computer science. Use our resources to find the right person to work with you and your students by grade bands K-56-89-12. Partners are available during CS Ed Week, December 6-10, as well as for other events throughout the year.
